VICTOR ALMAGER

Victor Almager served 32 years with the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR), managing the operations of multiple, individual correctional institutions throughout California, and was appointed by two California governors as Warden of an Adult Men's Prison and as Superintendent of the state's only Youth Correctional Facility housing both male and female youthful offenders.

Almager was the supervising Senior Special Agent (SSA) with the CDCR Office of Internal Affairs (OIA) under the OIA Assistant Director supervising the Criminal Team - Northern Region and Headquarters Administrative Team and has trained hundreds of second-line supervisors in basic investigative techniques at the Sacramento Regional Public Safety Training Center.
Almager also served as the OIA liaison with the Office of Inspector General in the oversight review of investigations conducted by OIA, statewide. And is also certified with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) as a Backgrounds Investigator.
​Prior to OIA, Almager was the Captain, Investigative Services Units and chief investigator over four adult men's correctional institutions overseeing all institutional criminal investigations and internal affairs investigations.
In addition to executive leadership training and myriad specialized training with the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI), Camp San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles Police Department (Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crimes), and Special Operators Training with CDCR, Almager is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Cum laude) from the School of Social Sciences & Interdisciplinary Studies.

Almager has professional affiliations with the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI), the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA Retired Chapter), as well as sports-related affiliations with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), and the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO).

VMAPIS Support Staff:
The VMAPIS Team is supported by an Operations Liaison responsible for assisting in the coordination and management of correspondence with clients, securing and tracking all investigative records and contracts, as well as overseeing budgeting and invoicing. ​​In addition, the Operations Liaison is fluent and Language Certified in both Portuguese and Spanish and speaks conversational Italian and French.
